Month of Thanksgiving day 15

Employable education--I think it is important to consider the employ-ability of the degree/education people work for.  I didn't always think that way.  When I started college I didn't really care too much about how a certain field would pay or if there would be jobs available.  Which is part of the reason I started my college experience as a music education major.  (I changed my major for a number of reasons, none of which was because of the low pay a music teacher could expect to earn).

But things have changed a lot in the last 8-10 years, in myself and in the job market.  Which is why I am grateful that as soon as I graduated high school, my dad trained me to be a dental assistant.  This gave me skills that I used once we moved to Washington and eventually led me to complete Dental Hygiene school.  I love what I do as a hygienist, but don't get me wrong, teeth and work are not my meaning in life.  It is nice to have a job that I can enjoy when I'm at work and then I can come home and pursue other interests.

I didn't know you started out in Music Education! I felt so bad when I switched from it, but there's not really any job security at all. What a cute graduation picture too!
