Rattlesnake Ridge
Here is yet another post of our weekend adventure, for our die-hard fans (it seems like that's all we ever write about). This was a relatively short hike and not too challenging. Considering that, I'd say the view was well worth the effort. I'm not sure why we hadn't done this hike earlier, since it is really close to our house, but we will definitely be back again.
View of Rattlesnake Lake from the top of the ridge. We liked watching the wind create shimmers on the water.
Mom, you would have died if you saw Jefferson sitting this close to the edge. It was very precarious and gravelly. I wouldn't recommend this place for wild children.
Me on a rock...not much else to say

July 4th Mason Lake Hike
For Independence Day, we went on our second annual Mason Lake Hike and loved it! Though there were some striking differences from last year, we had a great time trudging up the mountain and checking out what we could see of the scenery. Below are some pics:
Me by a waterfall.
The mistiness on the way up.
Frozen Mason Lake. Last year it was thawed and warm with people swimming in it.
Jefferson in a hollowed out tree surrounded by snow.
The wildest wild life we saw--a banana slug:) Good thing we didn't step on that!!!
Happy Independence Day! We love America and the great heritage we have in this country.
