Random Stuff

So, in addition to getting into Dental Hygiene school this weekend, I also had my first clogging performance. It was very last minute, and thus not very polished, but still a fun time for us in the group. Later, we attended the Seattle Art Museum, where we saw a collection of Roman statues that are on tour from the Louvre. Very impressive, I highly recommend local people to go see it. it will be here till sometime in May (Microsoft employees get in free and students get a discount). This morning I was released as the primary chorister, after having that calling for almost two years. I'll be serving as the Beehive Advisor now, which I am excited about, but I will miss the kids and the music. And, last but not least, since it was my birthday this past Tuesday, here is a picture of my cards and flowers from my parents.

Second April Adventure

Yesterday was our first gloriously sunny and warm Saturday of the year, so in true Vanefferson fashion, we planned an adventure! This time we headed somewhere new: Mount St. Helens! We left around 7:30, and got to places with good views around 10:00. The visitor's centers were not opened yet, the season starts in May, but the roads were still open and nicely plowed. Though we may not have learned as much by not going in the visitor's centers, we loved having the place almost entirely to ourselves!! Again, more pics are posted here, and a few of my favorites follow.
View of St. Helens, volcanic debris and pretty river
This place was sooo windy!
Nice little place plowed for access to a scenic viewpoint

First April Adventure

The first weekend in April, Jeff and I, along with my friend Caroline and her fiance Dan, went to Deception Pass State Park, about an hour and 45 min north of where we live. It was cold and windy, but at least not raining (or snowing--see previous post:). We bbq-ed hot dogs and roasted marshmallows for s'mores, followed by walking along the beach, skipping rocks and taking lots of pictures. Below are just a few of our pics, we've posted more here.
